An Introduction To Clive’s Kids

Clive Wakefield is a farmer in Zimbabwe. He is also supporting St. Basil’s Primary School on his farm, catering to the needs of 670 children, 75 of whom are orphans whose parents were farm workers who have died of AIDS or HIV related diseases.

They have 60 secondary students as well, and 17 teachers.

Clive, with the help of his wife Heather and his three children, looks after the needs of all the farm workers and teachers on Piedmont Farm. They require feeding, housing and clothing. There were roughly 900 Africans on the farm at the last Census. To encourage the teachers to come, Clive has allocated them land, maize seed, fertilizer, and they are fed every week.

Family and friends from around the world donate what they can towards the upkeep of the orphans and as well, Clive supplies each of the 670 children with one nutritional drink daily, to help keep their strength up.

Clive’s goal is to let the children know that people from other countries care about them and want to help them grow and learn. He wants to foster pride in their school so each child now has a new uniform, and recent donations of school notebooks and pencils were joyfully received.

Clive is looking after a big family and their needs are ongoing. Any donations to help with keeping the school going and the orphans provided for will be much appreciated and gratefully received.

Donations Needed:
